Ivaylo is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Wisconsin and California. He has a BA and MA in Psychology from Sofia University, Bulgaria and he obtained his MSW from Sacramento State University in California. His past experiences include counseling children and families in a private practice setting, offering general mental health services, teaching, and consulting for police departments. Ivaylo has extensive training in Solution Focused Therapy and has practiced it for over 20 years. The Solution-Focused, brief therapy approach, is based on collaboration between client and therapist, in which the client’s understanding and goals in therapy are regarded as an effective way to find out what works for the client in a strength-based, non-pathology model. Ivaylo has expertise working with children, adolescents and adults who experience depressive symptoms, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive problems, anger, bipolar disorder, PTSD, psychosis, ADHD, behavioral problems and attachments. He is also experienced with issues such as foster care, adoption, and psychological burnout. Ivaylo helps couples with marital problems and clients with family relationship issues, and enjoys working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Ivaylo is fully bilingual in English and Russian, and he also speaks Bulgarian and French.
